What Do I Wear?

  • Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in

  • Wear something that is "normal" for you.  The goal is to capture YOU at this point in  your life.

  • As amazing as glitter is, it doesn't photograph well, so it is better to not wear it for your pictures.

  • The less "busy" the shirt is, the better.

How many outfits can I bring?

  • You can bring as many outfits as you want!  If you are unsure, bring all of them you are choosing from and I can help you work through what works best, and gives the most variety.  However, the more time you spend changing clothes, the less time we have taking pictures.

Where will we go?

  • The location(s) are discussed in our consultation.  I want to make sure to provide the style you want, in a location appealing to you, so I need to learn a little more about you first. There is quite the variety of places we can go, it is just limited within a 25 mile radius of Henderson, CO (which covers most of the Denver Metro area).  However, if you want to go outside of that, we can discuss it and figure out the best package and options that will give you what you are wanting.

Can I have multiple hairstyles?

  • Yes!  However, it would be best to buy the "Original" or "Elite" sessions, so we can split the time into two days so we aren't wasting time fixing a completely different style the day of.  Of course, if you just want to put it up in the ponytail, and not change from straight to curly, then that isn't as big of a deal.

Can I bring props?

  • Of course!  Bring what resembles you at this point in your life.  If you are active in football, bring jersey's, a football, pads etc.  If you are active in band, bring your instrument.  Dance?  Bring your shoes or one of your dance outfits!  This is all about capturing who you are at this specific point in your life.

What else should I bring?

  • Comfortable walking shoes - as amazing as high heals are, we walk to different parts of a location and I really don't want you to be miserable doing it.  If you are miserable, then it will show in your pictures.

  • Make-up so you can touch up throughout.

  • Brush/comb

Can a friend and I do pictures together?

  • Of course!  Whether you are doing your session with someone else or not, I ALWAYS have someone else with us.  For more information on that, go to the next question of "Can I bring someone with me?"  Anyway, if we do 2 people at the same time, you have to have the same package, then it becomes "buy one get one 50% off."

How long before I see my pictures?

  • There will be a preview up on facebook within 48 hours of your session.

  • All of your images will be available to view within 2 weeks of your session.

How long do I have to order my pictures?

  • You have 9 months.

Do I get printing rights to my pictures?

  • Yes.  All packages come with rights to SOME of the images.  However, if you want rights to all of the images, you have to purchase the highest package, or it is an extra charge.

What if I get sick or if an emergency comes up?

  • Hey, I get it, life happens.  If something unforseen (such as illness, or family emergency) call me.  Let's figure out what we can do.  If you are unsure, call me and ask.  I don't want this to be stressful.

How do I get my picture for the yearbook?

  • First, make sure I know your requirements for your yearbook (does it have to be headshot, deminsions etc.  It should be in a packet you receive at the end of your junior year.)  I also need to know the deadline.  If the deadline is in between 7-14 days of your session (I provide a 2 week turnaround time) then there will be a $50 rush fee.  If it is within 1-7 days of your session, there will be a $100 rush fee.

  • Then, you tell me which image you want to use, and give me the email address to send it to, and I will take care of the rest!  No stress there.

What is the sitting fee?

  • The sitting fee is 1/3 the cost of your total package.  It is due upon booking to hold your place in my calendar and is non-refundable within 30 days of the session.  It DOES go towards your package total.

When is payment due?

  • 1/3 of the payment is due to schedule ("Sitting Fee")

  • 1/3 is due on or before the session

  • 1/3 is due within 2 weeks when your images are available for viewing.

Why should I choose you?

  • I can give you a million reasons, but here are just a few.  I specialize in capturing your personality in an image.  I do this by working with you, talking with you and catering each session to who you are to bring out the best version of you possible.  I am experienced, have worked in a studio doing the background work, learning the ins and outs of photography, worked under amazing photographers, been mentored (and still am), mentor others, continue growing and learning so I don't get stuck in a rut, and I absolutely love what I do.  To me this isn't a job.  This is a hobby that I decided to turn into a business.  The day I don't enjoy taking pictures is the day I close my doors.  I have high expectations of myself and will only provide my best work.  If you aren't satisfied, lets talk and re-do it.

You seem expensive, why?

  • Because I give you personalized, quality portraits.  I cater every session to your specific personality, wants and needs, and I only deliver excellent work.  I show excellence in every image I capture, edit and print.  I use professional labs to make sure you are getting the best of the best.  I try to go above and beyond the average photographer.  My prices are in direct correlation to how my work, time, and experience are valued... not just by me, but by my clients, family and friends.

I'm not sure and I have more questions.

  • So let's talk.  Meet with me and have coffee. Call me. Email me.  I want to answer your questions.  I want you to be confident in me and your investment in your pictures.  My phone number is: 720.443.2467  my email is: AftonLDainsPhotography@gmail.com

How far do you travel?

  • Anything within a 25 mile radius of Henderson, CO is available within any package.  However, if you have a specific location in mind, let me know and we will see what we can figure out.

When should I have pictures taken?

  • Most yearbook deadlines are no later than mid October, so definately before then.  However, come fall, my calendar books quickly.  The sooner the better!  The earlier you book, the better discounts you get also.  On the other hand, a lot of changes occur in your senior year, so if you want to have your pictures taken closer to graduation, then that is fine.  We can also do some of your pictures now, and some of them later in the year.

Can I bring someone with me?

  • Yes, please do.  Whether you are doing your session with a friend or by yourself, I ALWAYS have someone else with us (preferably one of your friends or a family member).  Let's face it, you are more comfortable with your family and friends, than a perfect stranger behind a camera.  If you are comfortable, you are more relaxed, and you can always tell in an image when you are uptight and uncomfortable.  If you are content, then your true personality can come out.

I have some ideas of what I want, can you do it?

  • I will always try.  I first need to know what you want, and I will be honest if I don't think it is within my skill set.  However, I like a challenge, and I like to learn and grow, and what better way than to push my limits.  Please be clear with me about what you are looking for in your consultation, though.

Do you have any discounts or promotions?

  • I do!  All teachers, military and mission work families receive 10% off their package.

  • STARS mentors receive 10% off

  • Schedule your session in June receive 20% off

  • Schedule your session in July receive 15% off

  • However, you can only use 1 discount at a time.
